Two-day shipping used to be a perk. Now it's the baseline, and it's dragging every other part of retail along with it. Free returns, instant refunds, same-day delivery: none of that was standard a decade ago. Amazon trained shoppers to expect it everywhere, and brands that can't keep up are quietly losing the sale before the customer even compares prices.
Michael Maher spoke with Tyler Wallis, co-founder and managing partner of The Lab Consult, about seven years inside Amazon and what happens when a company spends that long resetting consumer expectations for everyone else.
